A house with no basement is being built in timber construction on a lakeside plot at Fleesensee. Timber frame construction and board stack ceilings create a compact volume for one residential unit. The south-facing closed solar façade, which covers the roof and walls, generates electricity for the infrared heating system integrated into the wooden windows. Large window areas are oriented to the north, reducing summer but optimizing winter heat gain.
