As part of the historic Hellersdorf town estate, a district and commercial district with a variety of cultural and social uses, we are planning a community center with a farm shop and farm café for GESOBAU.
The new building in wood hybrid construction is designed to be as flexible and reusable as possible and has a solar roof integrated into the roof cladding.

Contrary to the initial design task, the demolition of a complex existing structure was prevented. The building to be converted was built in the 19th century as a barn with a basement, which was converted into boat stalls and stables in 1930. At the end of the 1950s, the building was redesigned into a semi-detached house according to plans by the architect Günter Hönow, a representative of West Berlin's post-war modernism. The concept of wolff:architekten envisages preserving as much of the existing building as possible. The light interior walls of the ground floor should only be partially dismantled. The asbestos-contaminated roof is removed and replaced by a lightweight structure with generous living space, which is enclosed by a lightweight shell as a climatic buffer zone. The upper floor areas can be expanded into a separate residential unit in the future.
